Photography allows you to see beyond your world and words.
You have the power to look beyond the horizons of things,
of lights, of shadows, of shapes, elements and facts.
Train this inner skill to heal and change yourself.
Use it for healing the world too.
Enjoy the journey.
I grew up in a family from which I've learnt to cultivate love, curiosity and respect for Nature, Beauty and Art.
Outdoor experiences on mountains, in the forests, on the seas and in the deserts taught me to love the environment, respect and protect it, growing with the deep awareness that we all belong to Mother Nature. Photography has often accompanied me during these explorations, quite introspective, and became my personal photographic language for witnessing to Nature around us, its Beauty and - sadly - its wounds.
I have always tried to see beyond appearances, looking at things, facts, people, places with different eyes, from different points of view, far and near, using my personal sensibility, exploring and witnessing conditions that people often ignore.
I have always tried to develop my personal language, protecting my mind and my eyes from third influences and conditioning so to overcome the barriers of fashion and time.
The natural environment, unknown places, are subjects that I am interested to document, witnessing reality and unveiling the truth. I report naked truth even when I document the results of human beings bad habits. Natural light, Black and White photography, Fine Art prints are the natural language and media I use. Sometimes my stories are printed and shown with colors.
I consider photography a fundamental element of communication in human society, in our private life and in business too.
It’s a great invention and a contagious agent, a powerful tool for speaking with people in a direct way.
It’s useful for telling and sharing facts, stories and interesting things with other human beings, for showing beautiful or sensual elements often hidden or "invisible" to our eyes, for sharing positive or negative experiences.
Photographs have the power to stimulate the senses and nourish feelings and awareness in spectators. Photos help people also to think about specific topics, critical issues, changing point of view on our beliefs.
The art and language of photography can help also to witness and report serious facts and crimes against humanity and nature. It's useful also for refreshing our memories.
The hope to change and heal the world passes through the documentation of the truth and never from the silence or concealment of reality. In this way, photography like culture can change everything.
Photographs can heal also our souls through the beauty and instill hope for the future. Based on this assumption, photographers like editors and authors have a great responsibility to tell the truth. Viewers too have the responsibility to understand this truth, think and take action.
When we look at a photograph, flipping through the pages of magazines, browsing a book, looking at art collections exhibited in Art Galleries, Museums, Foundations, Hotels, Homes, we never imagine which were the paths and efforts that the photographer has done for making the image in front of our eyes. At the same time, we can't understand how many years the photographer has spent before making that perfect shot, we can't imagine the list of risks he has faced and we can't calculate all the time needed to complete that collection so precious for our eyes.
Every photograph has a long story behind it and is the complex result of study and research of subjects through the use of maps, books, reports, news and more. A photographer must be able to organize the travel and logistics of the expeditionin every single detail. He must be skilled for creating special shoots, often using few equipments, mainly working with natural lights, respecting the environment, local people and cultures. A Fine Art photographer must be an expert of production of the best FineArt Prints for collections, books, exhibitions… Emotions curated in limited editions are not produced with a simple click.
